Fasting for fast weight loss is a popular of losing a large amount of weight in a short period of time. While many of us would like to lose weight quickly is this a sensible approach or are we kidding ourselves or worse, risking our health with these rapid dieting techniques?


Fasting can be used to lose weight by drinking nothing but water for a prolonged period of up to seven days or more and it may even be possible to reduce body weight by as much as 20 lbs in obese individuals. Weight loss using these methods can still be very significant with 1- 2 lbs of weight loss per week on a consistent basis. You could realistically drop a stone in as little as 6 weeks.
